normal again
We have now been living in our new house for almost three weeks and it could not feel more perfect of a home for us. Everyday I feel like I discover something new I love about it. Since we live on the corner and it is the only side with a sidewalk I love to just sit with little Belle and watch the people walking by. I am so interested in people watching....who would have thought that my main living room window would be the ideal peeping tom location.
So much has happened since we have lived here-the biggest highlight being Carrie Barnes (my college roommate) got married. I loved being a bridesmaid and had such a blast. The only downside being the way I looked after leaving the reception....I had completely sweat through my dress, not just the back, but the front too. How I miss my girls from Taylor. It was so wonderful to hang out with them (and by the way...Rachel Clemens...now Cuthbert is even more attractive than she was in college...if you can imagine that) I was inspired by her the other night and dyed my hair a shade darker. I am thinking about cutting it too...but only one impulsive thing at a time.
Bear was a beautiful bride...truly beautiful and I cried my way through the whole ceremony. I hate that at weddings you get the littlest time with bride-there should be a honeymoon with the friends before the wedding and then one with the hubby after it. I love her and want to have her and Rachel move in on my new street. Life would be too sweet having them drop by for coffee at anytime. I might even be tempted to make ramen noodles just for the sentiment of it. I miss them...I miss a lot of people from Taylor-third west ladies! If any of you are reading this, please come and visit us.
Today I went to my mom's house (she called me with the tempting offer of hot coffee and blueberry scones....she is watching all of my sister emily's children and needed some extra hands...believe me I do not usually need any temptation to visit her) So Isabelle and I came right over and indulged in the previously listed:) After that we went to Adam's Park for a stroll. I was grossly disappointed with a farmer's market that boasted of being great and ended up being four stands of stuff I did not want....bummer. No need to worry about me though-I found my way to Carlson's Art Store and spent just under $100 dollars:) No fear-this is not a common practice. I had to of course come home and create some art-which I did with Isabelle in the Snugli-I love what I made. But since I am not super talented just yet....the loving will be limited to Nate, my and Isabelle's eyes. Nate should be home soon and I cannot wait...I miss him so much when he is at work and last weekend was wonderful but I did not get near enough time with him so this week has been a tease to me. At least tomorrow is Friday.
High Point: Painting in the basement and falling in love with hot pink!
Low Point: Who can think of a low point....Nate just surprised me and came home early!! Goodnight!

What a find!
So today started off with my mom and I walking to the Egg Harbor in Downtown Wheaton and enjoying a lovely breakfast. I discovered just how much Isabelle loves pancakes on that trip too....the girl almost bit our fingers off. Then my sweet Nate picked us up, because in all honesty I did not want to hike all the way back with a stomach full of coffee and food! (what a man!)
Then after enjoying Nate's lunch break with him, my mom, Isabelle and I jotted off to West Chicago's antique shop. The prices there compared to Downtown Wheaton Antiques are amazing! The only purchase I made was a small bird statue thing. (visit my new house if you want to see it) But the real jackpot was on the drive home. We went to this pathetic looking garage sale....only to discover the most beautiful Lenox China for sale. 12 Places Settings, Veggie Bowls, Serving Platters, all for $200!!!! To put this into perspective for you....you can buy one serving bowl for around $359 online:) Yes it was an amazing purchase!!! The set is called Snow Lily. Check it out.

Low Point: my knee popping whenever I go up or down any set of stairs...I'm only 25 for crying out loud

soccer in a skirt
Well, yesterday after an early (and very fun) morning with Nate and Isabelle we all jetted off to church. Good sermon by Dr. Moo...even if Isabelle was her sweet little distracting self. Nate has told me that we must try the nursery again next Sunday (yikes...hopefully no more getting called out of the service) Then we went to our (traditional) Einsteins for a yummy set of bagels. I had a delicious coffee date with Bean (Colleen Powell) and then Nate and I went back to one of my favorite things in the whole world.
Glen Ellyn has this day where everything and anything they want they can place at their curb and it will be taken away by the trash people on Monday. Well, after going not once, not twice but three times I was so happy with our many finds! Some of my favorites are
-a beautiful wood highchair (old fashion/fully functioning)
-a cute little red wood chair for me to sit on while I paint
-a gorgeous modern styled wood chair
Again that is not all we got, but those would be my top picks. Anyhow...we wanted to borrow James and Karen's van so we could pack much more in with us as we saw it so we met them at this park to exchange cars. They were playing soccer at the park...I had to play. Where soccer is concerned there is no choice. Yes, I was in heels, a skirt, and pearls. I played anyway. Nate and I played an hour and a half with them-it was wonderful! I loved this weekend! Below are listed the high points and low points of both Saturday and Sunday.
High Point(Saturday): Going downtown to the Artropolis and seeing Jess's work and many other amazing artists!
Low Point(Saturday):City driving....I HATE driving in the city...always have always will.
High Point(Sunday):Playing soccer and having the time of my life with Nate playing as well and Isabelle being watched by her Aunt Karen on the sidelines.
Low Point(Sunday):Realizing I should have stretched either before or after the soccer playing and doing neither and feeling it like OH MY!

humid.
I remembered today one of the reasons I am not the HUGEST fan of summer/spring. I love the warmth and the ability to do so much outside....but it hit me with a ton of bricks today the reason I cringe at the thought of it sometimes. Humidity! If you have ever experienced having curly hair (that you have straightened) then you know precisely what I mean. Nate and I made a little walk to Suzette's Crepes (a story in itself) but along the way I realized just how sick my hair looked. Now I must confess, it was not just the humidity....I had not showered nor placed a bit of makeup on my face. Wise choice....after a quick glance in a mirror I knew NOPE. So yes-I hate humidity...unless naked and in a steam room. But besides that...not really a fan at all.
High Point: Nate going in late to work today...therefore we had a fun "English style" breakfast of coffee and croissants. Nate had blueberry and I had (but of course darling) chocolate:)I do recommend the chocolate one, it was amazing! (cost:$3.50) Isabelle had breast milk.
Low Point: As earlier mentioned the humidity...but also going to a garage sale that advertised having "amazing baby clothes" only to discover it was far from amazing and rather ugly!
