let it shine

When the world shows it's ugly side. When my flesh reminds me of my daily need for Jesus. When darkness dares to overcome the light and it feels as though all news is heartbreaking, I am holding white-knuckled to the truth. In Him there is no darkness at all.

"This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine,
let it shine, let it shine, let it shine."

Happy Birthday and I miss you.

Today is my sister Emily's birthday. She moved to Australia with her family a year ago and I miss her something fierce, especially today. These pictures were taken at our final goodbye and they are making me laugh and smile today.
 Love you Emily!
Happy Birthday you amazing and beautiful woman!

My Recent Obsessions

Did you know there is a world of people as in love with planners, paper goods, little stamps and drawings as me? I did not know this until recently and my world has exploded in the best way possible!
 2. Washi tape
If you like adding a little touch of embellishment whenever possible (ie: weekly meal schedule, letters to friends, to do list) then I highly suggest you get yourself some washi tape. Or come use some of mine, I might just have enough to go around...and around...and around.

3. Japanese illustration books
The more I discover about Japan and the people of Japan the more I realize they know how to make all things beautiful, creative and cute. I simply cannot get enough!
4. Doodling little people and cutting them out.
Everything becomes cuter (in my opinion) when it is little and cut out. These little doodles found their way onto letters sent out to people who inspire me. If you ever want to get snail mail then let me know, I love having people to send stuff to.

5. Writing, drawing, recording life.
This book is my creative escape (one of many), my recorder of thoughts, my attempt at drawing and growing in that area.

What are you obsessing over lately?

A picture of each child once a week for one year. (alright, not every week, but whenever I can)
